The Federal Election Commission (FEC) remains missing in action.
The agency responsible for enforcing our election laws has been effectively shut down for 129 days due to the resignation of one of its commissioners. Now the FEC doesn’t have a quorum.
That means the agency can’t enforce existing laws, fine violators, make new rules, or move forward with investigations.
And there’s been no effort by Congress or the administration to get it back up and running.
