Thanks again for all you've done for the Blue Amp Community! I say, community, because I believe this has become a place where open minded Americans who care about our country can read, share, donate & sign. We email about key issues for our progressive allies--from green energy to gun violence--and share petitions, where you can exercise your democratic rights. We promote charities--beyond politics--that need support, videos that inform, and news that'll keep you up-to-date on our battle to not only protect democracy, but vastly improve it.
In that spirit, here's our newsletter, which we'll send 2-3x per week with important stories and other projects we're working on:
* Since Elon Musk absconded w/ Twitter & showed his true colors by allowing trolls back on the platform, engaging w/ neo-Nazis & endorsing asinine ideas, folks have been looking for alternatives. Nothing's perfect, but so far I really enjoy Post. It's early, so there are bugs. But it has it an attractive look, is easy to navigate and...NO NAZIS! If you're on Post, please follow me! If not, look into it, it may be for you.
* What do a follower of neo-Nazi Nick Fuentes, Vladimir Putin & Nancy Pelosi's stolen laptop from Jan 6th have in common? Riley June Williams of Harrisburg, PA, convicted of multiple crimes, who's part of Fuentes' "Groyper" group. More alarming, she had the contacts to attempt to sell Pelosi's laptop to the Russians. Please watch and share this video that ties all these data points together.
* Begun the post-midterm GOP Civil War has (in my best Yoda). This Salon piece is really long, so you must commit...but fascinating.
* After horrific mass shootings in Colorado & Virginia, we know there's zero proof gun laws work...except a *world* of evidence. PLEASE WATCH!
* Again, on the shootings, Rex Huppke, all-around-great guy, humor & political columnist for USA Today (this is the latter) spits fire in a piece on how Republicans promote hate speech, gun proliferation & whistle past the graveyard. READ IT!
* Review: If you like funny movies, you may wanna watch "Spirited" with the family. A new take on Scrooge w/ Will Ferrell, Ryan Reynolds & Octavia Spencer. We just watched--it's clever, fun & ok for the kids, if you're ok w/ PG-13 level humor.
* A little less PG-13...After Herschel Walker pronounced this "erection is about the people," I had fun with a 1-minute video at my Youtube channel. I was...impressed he seems firmly committed to taking on stiff competition & seemingly swelling w/ pride. Ok..I went there. So if you want a minute to take a load off and laugh, go watch & share--it's actually important, as research shows to turn politicians into objects of mockery in elections. It makes them much less likely to win!
