Congress returns from Thanksgiving recess with lengthy to-do list
Dear activist,
Congress returns from its Thanksgiving recess this week with a laundry list of items it hopes to pass before the end of the year.
Most importantly, Congress must pass a spending bill to keep the government funded beyond Dec. 16. This must-pass legislation could serve as a vehicle for a number of troubling immigration provisions.
In addition, Congress will look to pass the National Defense Authorization Act. The House attached an amnesty to its version earlier this year. There's also pressure from special interest groups to pass an amnesty for illegal aliens who entered the country at a young age and an amnesty for illegal farm workers.
