Hi there, John. It's Sen. Tom Carper. Yesterday I announced a Giving Tuesday partnership with the Chesapeake Climate Action Network to raise $5,000 to combat global warming.

After the extreme heat waves and weather events we witnessed this summer, it's more clear than ever before just how high the stakes are here. If we don't win this fight, we will face a true climate catastrophe in the years ahead. We must take action now if we want to stop climate change before it's too late.

But right now, I'm still $3,821 short of my urgent Giving Tuesday goal. Will you please split a donation between CCAN and my campaign to ensure that we have the resources to stop the climate crisis and elect pro-environment leaders?

This year marks half a century since the Clean Water Act was first passed. And, since then, we've made so much progress in the fight to save our planet. We've cracked down on the biggest polluters, cleaned up our communities, and invested in technologies that will reduce our dependency on oil.

All of this has only been possible because committed, fierce leaders believed in a better future and fought for change. But this fight is far from over, and we all – legislators, advocates, and grassroots activists like you – have a part to play here. I'm doing everything I can to support organizations like CCAN and move meaningful climate legislation through Congress. And today, I'm asking you to join us.
