Exciting news, John: This afternoon, the Senate will reconvene and have the opportunity to pass the Respect for Marriage Act – a bill to codify same-sex marriage into law.

LGBTQ couples deserve the same rights, privileges, and freedoms afforded to every other American couple – full stop. If you agree, then sign on right now to demand the Senate pass the Respect for Marriage Act TODAY, and send it along to the House for a final vote ASAP. [[link removed]]

I don’t need to tell you that there has been a disturbing rise in anti-LGBTQ rhetoric, legislation, and violence over the past few years. The GOP’s efforts to fan the flames of hatred and division for their own political gain will continue to have dire consequences for your LGBTQ friends, neighbors, and families like mine – and it’s up to us to take action and fight back.

Today, our leaders have the opportunity to say loud and clear that LGBTQ Americans deserve dignity, freedom, and respect – starting with the right to marry who they love. This is one small step we can and must take TODAY to stand with LGBTQ Americans. So please: Before the Senate reconvenes later today, sign on now to demand that they pass the Respect for Marriage Act. [[link removed]]

As President Pro Tem of the Vermont State Senate, she's led the charge to invest in affordable housing, fight climate change, enshrine reproductive freedom into our state's constitution, and so much more. Now, she's running for Congress to have a greater impact on more Vermonters. If you'd like to receive fewer emails and only see our most important updates, click here.
