Support CDT’s essential work

Tomorrow is the day! In just under 12 hours, millions of people from across the globe will come together and celebrate generosity like no other day of the year. From volunteer service to dollars donated, be part of the international movement to support the causes you care about.
In preparation for the day, I wanted to share a few words on how I decide what causes to support.
1. Think about the world as it is today. Depending on the day, this can be overwhelming, but also empowering. Do you enjoy connecting with causes, friends, and merchants online, but see problems surrounding how your data is used? Maybe you see the benefits of AI, but are concerned with how it disproportionately impacts underrepresented people.
2. Think about the changes you would like to see. Are you interested in ensuring that schools harness technology more for learning, and less for invasive monitoring of students? Or, maybe you think an open internet for all users is fundamental to a fairer, freer society?
3. Think about who is doing the work to get there. There are a number of great nonprofits in our world, and they all have different areas of expertise. If you are concerned about privacy issues, pillars of democracy such as elections, or any of the other causes we focus on, we’d welcome your support.
Please be sure to think of CDT as you decide your year-end giving; we’ll be thinking of you and your digital rights as we head into the new year.
Sincerely,
Alexandra Reeve Givens
