We’ve made it easy to set up your own fundraiser Dear John, Tomorrow is #GivingTuesday, a global day of giving back to the causes and organizations closest to your heart. We know you care about funding our research, education and advocacy efforts to eliminate barriers to treatment for severe mental illness. That’s why we’re asking you to set up a fundraiser on Facebook tomorrow and ask your friends and family to donate to Treatment Advocacy Center! We’ve made it easy. Just follow these step-by-step instructions, and you’re ready to be a catalyst for change by raising funds for severe mental illness (you can also click on the guide to view and download the PDF). Still have questions? We have answers! Q: What message should I include in my fundraiser? A: The best message is your personal story of SMI. Your story is powerful, and sharing it with your friends and family will help them connect with our mission. Q: I still don’t know what to write. Can you help me? A: We’ve got you covered. Here’s some sample language to get you started: For #GivingTuesday, I’m raising funds for Treatment Advocacy Center. They’re making a major difference for individuals and families affected by severe mental illness — like me! Help me raise money for Treatment Advocacy Center so they can expand their research, education and advocacy for better treatment for all who need it! #GiveToTAC Q: How can I encourage people to donate? A: Make the first donation yourself! People are more likely to donate if someone has started the ball rolling. Q: Anything else I should know? A: Be sure to use the hashtag #GiveToTAC when you set up your fundraiser! We’ll be sharing and shouting out all our generous supporters all day long. From all of us at Treatment Advocacy, thank you for sharing your story to be a catalyst for change! We appreciate your generosity and the generosity of your friends and family.
