Morena Baccarin
Friend —

I'm Morena Baccarin — you may know me from TV shows like Homeland and Gotham or movies like Deadpool. But what you may not know about me is I'm an immigrant to the United States.

I started going to school not even speaking the same language as my classmates. As hard as it was, I know so many immigrants and refugees face much bigger challenges. I can't imagine living through war or a catastrophic drought on top of that experience.

That's why I'm proud to support the IRC — and why I'm asking you to make a gift this Giving Tuesday to power their work. The IRC is in more than 40 countries to help people affected by crises to survive, recover and rebuild their lives. That work could not be more vital right now. The conflict in Ukraine, floods in Pakistan, and other crises have pushed millions from their homes. And shortages of grains and too little rain are leaving tens of millions of people in East Africa and other areas without enough to eat.

Can you join me in supporting the IRC? Support from people like you is what powers their work to reach families in crisis zones with critical aid. Make a gift before Giving Tuesday, November 29, and your gift will be MATCHED: [link removed]

I've personally witnessed the meaningful difference that the IRC makes. Before the COVID-19 pandemic, I traveled to Colombia to meet with mothers who had fled political instability and economic crisis in Venezuela. Escaping the political upheaval was one mother of two children. She had left behind a career as a schoolteacher and suddenly found herself unable to feed her family — not even a single meal per day — for the very first time.

Through her tears, she told me about her hopes — she wants only the possibility to provide for her family and give back to the society that took them in. Her wish was for her children, and those she used to teach, to have a future. I know I share that same wish for my children.

The IRC provides essential assistance to families all around the world — people who have had their lives and their futures shattered due to conflict, climate change and other humanitarian crises.

Please join me in supporting this vital work. Your 2X-matched gift today will DOUBLE the impact the IRC can make for children and families facing hunger and other crises that I can hardly imagine. You can use this personalized link made specifically for supporters like you here: [link removed]

It's because of the generosity of supporters like you that the IRC is able to make such an incredible impact on so many lives. Thank you for everything you do to make that work possible.

Sincerely,

— Morena Baccarin
