Friend, |
Spinach, mango, basil, bell peppers. You choose these foods to stay healthy, but they could be harming your brain and body. |
In the US, these common crops can all be grown using organophosphates — dangerous pesticides that are inherently neurotoxic to humans and even damage children's developing brains. |
Despite the alarming impact on our health, the EPA allows the use of these toxic pesticides on our food. |
This giving week, longtime supporter George Martin is MATCHING all donations to Earthjustice. Will you make a special gift today to stop massive agricultural companies from poisoning our communities?

Earthjustice has proven we can use the power of the law alongside grassroots advocacy to make transformative change. In 2021 we succeeded in a decade-long effort to ban one of the most widely-used organophosphates — chlorpyriphos — from our food, protecting farmworkers and consumers alike. |
But Friend, we know we can’t stop there. |
We haven't yet discovered all the impacts of organophosphates, but here’s what we do know: |
- Decades of studies have linked in utero exposure to organophosphates to reduced IQ, attention disorders, and autism in kids.
- Organophosphates can cause acute poisoning to farmworkers at allowable levels of exposure, even when workers wear the most protective equipment.
- At high levels of exposure, organophosphate pesticides can be lethal.
|
If you’re able, I hope you’ll join me in fighting back today — for children, for farmworkers, and for a future without neurotoxins in our food and water. |
Please make your $1:$1 matched gift today and help Earthjustice win more lawsuits on behalf of us all. |
