Also, the Senate Banking Committee holds two hearings this week, a nomination hearing on Wednesday, Nov. 30 and "Fairness in Financial Services: Racism and Discrimination in Banking" on Thursday, Dec. 1.

CFPB increases allowable FCRA charges

The CFPB has raised the ceiling for allowable charges under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) in 2023. This dictates what consumer reporting agencies are allowed to charge consumers who request their information file after their guaranteed free file disclosure in a 12-month period.
