John --

It’s no secret — Congress is full of out-of-touch incumbents who stand in
the way of our progress. Just look at how Nancy Pelosi gave in to a bunch
of conservative Democrats to revolt and pass a $4.6 billion blank check to
the Trump Administration for their border concentration camps.

They don’t deserve to keep their seats. If they’re not willing to stand up
when Trump is putting children in inhumane conditions, depriving them of
supplies, and letting them die on his watch, where else could the line
possibly be?

Here’s the good news: voters are taking notice. We’re hearing from a surge
of new, diverse, working-class people who are sick and tired of their
conservative Democratic incumbents, and they want to run for office.

But here’s the bad news: the DCCC blacklist is still in place, which means
too many of these potential challengers can’t find vendors or staffers to
help them run a campaign — which means they have to rely on us to make
those connections and fill the gaps.

[ [link removed] ]Right now, we’re stretched incredibly thin between combating
establishment forces and helping powerful progressives launch. For weeks,
our own fundraising was on the backburner. Can you donate
$3,
if you can afford it, to help us close the gap?

The Democratic Party should be embracing these young, new leaders from
diverse backgrounds — but instead, organizations like the DCCC have
decided they’d rather stick with Henry Cuellar and Dan Lipinski instead of
new leaders like Jessica Cisneros and Jamaal Bowman.

But together, we can win that fight for the soul of the Democratic Party.
Each and every day, our insurgent progressive campaigns get stronger and
stronger as people realize that, even in safe Democratic districts, they
have a choice for real representation.

In solidarity,

Alexandra Rojas,
Justice Democrats
