Ending our nation's gun violence epidemic is my life's purpose. Nineteen years ago, my mother was murdered by a gunman when she answered the door of our home. I lost my best friend and my strongest supporter. It took me years to work through grief and pain and find my way to this movement, and now I work every day to keep other families from having to live a similar nightmare. That's why I’m here at Brady — where survivors are leading this fight against gun violence.
