The American people deserve a president who will keep them safe and always act in our nation’s best interests. Instead, Trump brought us to the brink of yet another major conflict last week -- and without having a strategy to prevent further escalation with Iran or fully considering the serious consequences of his actions.

The potential repercussions of this strike are profound. And they call into question this administration’s strategy to protect U.S. troops, diplomats, and others in the region. Now, more than ever, I know this to be true: We must put a Democrat in the Oval Office and in seats up and down the ballot this year. We must act.
