1. NC VALUES: âĽď¸ they never thought it would happen
This Thanksgiving, Iâm feeling more grateful than ever â especially for your friendship and support.
In the past year, Iâve had the honor and privilege of working alongside North Carolinians like you to return Biblical values to the public square â not through polemic, but through persuasion, coalition building, and a winning strategy.
This year, your voice, your prayers, and your dogged persistence has brought about the most important victory for Christians in over 50 years â overturning Roe v. Wade.
Some thought it would never happen. Many were resigned to a future where abortion-on-demand would remain the law of the land for all time. But not us. Weâve always trusted in Godâs providence that we would one day have the chance to end the scourge of abortion in our state.
That chance is now before us and I couldnât be more grateful that you are standing with me to seize upon this opportunity.

2. LONG LEAF POLITICS: What North Carolinians think about abortion, according to polling
âFew North Carolinians support legal abortion to the point of birth, as some blue states like California and New York have adopted. Only 23% in the Civitas poll wanted no abortion restrictions, and only 20% in the WRAL poll wanted to ease abortion restrictions. A plurality (37%) in a poll by left-leaning Carolina Forward in August said they favored abortion restrictions tighter than the current 20 weeks. Only 28% wanted looser restrictions, and 27% favored keeping them as they are.â

3. DAILY SIGNAL: Mike Lee to GOP: 'Have the Courage to Protect' Religious Freedom
âRepublican Utah Sen. Mike Lee is urging the 12 Republican senators who voted for the so-called Respect for Marriage Act to oppose cloture on the legislation unless Leeâs amendment is added to the bill. âThe free exercise of religion is absolutely essential to the health of our Republic,â the senator wrote in a âDear Colleagueâ letter first obtained by The Daily Signal, signed by 20 of his Republican colleagues. âWe must have the courage to protect it.â
The letter is chiefly directed at the 12 Republican lawmakers voted for advancing the Respect for Marriage Act, The Daily Signal has learned.
These Republicans are Sens. Roy Blunt of Missouri, Richard Burr of North Carolina, Shelley Capito of West Virginia, Susan Collins of Maine, Cynthia Lummis of Wyoming, Rob Portman of Ohio, Mitt Romney of Utah, Dan Sullivan of Alaska, Thom Tillis of North Carolina, Joni Ernst of Iowa, Lisa Murkowski of Alaska, and Todd Young of Indiana.â

4. WALL STREET JOURNAL: Lawsuit Filed to Reverse Approval, Access to Abortion Pill
"A new abortion battle is moving to the courts, this time over a pill for ending pregnancies. Abortion opponents sued the Food and Drug Administration and Health and Human Services department in federal court in Amarillo, Texas, on Friday, seeking to undo the approval of the abortion-inducing pill called mifepristone as well as subsequent agency decisions easing access to the drug."

Weekly Prayer: Officials
LORD, you also have instructed us to pray for our governing officials, and we come to you in the spirit of this petition. We pray for our national government and its executive, legislative, and judicial servants. May they indeed be servants unto the people, and govern in a manner that protects liberty and virtue. In the same spirit, we pray for public servants across our state and local governments. May they all heed your mandate in Romans 13:4 to be in positions of authority as "God's servant" and for the "good" of the public. They govern in what we confess are difficult times. May they plead with you to give them wisdom, and may your grace to govern wisely be poured out on them.
Protect us from the oppression and loss of freedoms that other countries have experienced, and help us to value and preserve freedom, which we know comes only from You.
"I have indeed seen the oppression of my people in Egypt. I have heard their groaning and have come down to set them free. Now come, I will send you back to Egypt." Acts 7:34 (God's words to Moses)
Amen
