Learn the history of famine from the 1980s to today – and how the IRC is saving lives.

Dear John,

There is nothing more terrifying for a parent than watching their child slowly disappear.

I just got back from Chad, where thousands of parents face this reality each day. Malnutrition levels amongst children under five are plummeting and families are in dire need of assistance.

As temperatures rise — along with climate stress and growing conflict — we know that children are most at risk.

In the coming weeks, you'll be receiving emails from us about how we're saving children at risk of starvation. Today, I hope you will take a look at the timeline below knowing we have redoubled our commitment to saving malnourished children. We refuse to leave these families behind.

Sincerely,

David Miliband
IRC President &CEO
