Dear Friend,
Stories have a profound impact on society. Through movies, music, and books, stories shape beliefs and ideas, and help cultivate a shared understanding of our world, inspiring and guiding those that are wiling to listen.
That’s why uplifting the voices of unaccompanied and separated immigrant children is so important. Each child has a story with the power to inspire us to take action, change lives, and breathe wonder.
Many of us share this same story of new arrival, wonder, and trying to fit in while making sense of it all. Giving Tuesday is not just about donating to your favorite cause. It’s also about inspiring others to act and get involved in all sorts of different ways to stand up for justice and the rights of unaccompanied immigrant children. That’s why we’re excited to have amazing artists and storytellers such as journalist Maria Hinojosa, singer-songwriter Ceci
Bastida, and author Reyna Grande join the Young Center’s Giving Tuesday campaign this year to amplify our message.
On Tuesday November 29 at 1:00PM EST, join us on Instagram Live for a conversation with Ceci Bastida and Reyna Grande about the power of the arts in changing the narrative for immigrant justice.
During this conversation, you can also enter to win a copy of Reyna's newest book "Somewhere We Are Human: Authentic Voices on Migration, Survival and New Beginnings" an anthology by and about undocumented Americans. Additionally, all first-time donors of $100+ to our campaign will be gifted an signed copy of Maria Hinojosa’s memoir for young readers “Once I Was You”
