Do you know what Image-Based Sexual Abuse is?

There is a form of sexual exploitation that many people have experienced, but that long went unnamed — image-based sexual abuse.

Image-based sexual abuse (IBSA) is a broad term that includes a wide range of harmful experiences involving the weaponization of sexually explicit or sexualized images or videos.

IBSA involves the creating, threatening to share, sharing, or using of recordings (still images or videos) of sexually explicit or sexualized materials without the consent of the person depicted and/or for purposes of exploitationThis can include sharing sexually explicit images of someone without their consent (often called "revenge porn"), editing someone's face onto sexually explicit images (sometimes called "deepfake pornography"), recording and sharing videos of rape or sex-trafficking... and so much more.

Learn more about image-based sexual abuse, how it harms survivors, and what can be done to stop it here.
