Together, let's end men's violence against women and girls

** It's White Ribbon Day!
------------------------------------------------------------

Hello,

Following a busy week of activities across England and Wales, we are incredibly excited about the arrival of White Ribbon Day.

From Nottingham to Cardiff, we've witnessed the incredible support and commitment of individual Champions and Ambassadors, Supporter organisations and White Ribbon Accredited organisations working to raise awareness of how to end violence against women and girls within their local communities.

This year, we're choosing to focus on raising awareness about the dangers women and girls face in traditionally male-dominated contexts. #TheGoal emerged out of a need to highlight harmful cultures in football that not only endanger lives but perpetuate dangerous behaviours in men and boys, allowing violence to continue.

As the FIFA men's World Cup begins in Qatar, #TheGoal serves to remind people how important it is to work towards preventing violence by educating men and boys and involving them in these conversations. This year we want to encourage even more men and boys to be better allies by nurturing 11 traits ([link removed]) -- one for each player on a football team -- in spaces where women and girls don't always feel welcome or safe.

To help us spread #TheGoal messaging, we've partnered with the award-winning organisation HerGameToo ([link removed]) , as well as the rail industry, train operation companies, police partners and central Government to spark conversations about violence against women in public spaces.

My hope with #TheGoal is to enable all of us to be able to talk about, address, and call out sexist comments and misogynistic behaviours in our daily lives -- at the pub, on the football pitch, or on the train on the way to a match. Because this is how we end gender-based violence and transform harmful cultures.

Today on White Ribbon Day, I hope you'll show your support by making the White Ribbon Promise ([link removed]) to never use, excuse or remain silent about men's violence against women and girls. And remember that this is #TheGoal every day.
