Happy Thanksgiving, friends!
I wanted to spread the spirit of gratitude and share some of the things I am most thankful for this Thanksgiving:
- Democratic voters (like you) around the country who helped lift our party to the best midterm election performance for an incumbent party in decades. Because we made our voices heard, we defied all odds to prevent the predicted “red wave” and defend our freedom and our democracy.
- The passage of the Inflation Reduction Act in Congress earlier this year. The IRA provides the biggest investment in climate action in American history, raises taxes on the uber-wealthy, expands the Affordable Care Act, and will finally lower crucial drug costs for everyday people. It is a historic piece of legislation, and I am beyond proud to have voted for it.
- Of course, all of my family: my kids, Hank, Nelson, and Cricket, and my wife, Brittany. They are the center of my world, and I could not do any of this without them.
- My constituents in the 14th District of California. I am eternally grateful for the faith you’ve put in me and the privilege you’ve given me to continue representing you and advocating for progressive change in Congress.
I hope you enjoy your Thanksgiving too, friends.
