Hi John,
Before things in my kitchen get too too hectic, I wanted to drop a quick note to say: Happy Thanksgiving, John.
I couldn’t possibly fit all the things I’m grateful for this year into an email, but I wanted to share a few things at the top of my list.
First, the biggest thing our family is celebrating today is being together. While I might have to remind myself sometimes, in my heart I always know what a blessing it is to have my home filled up with our kids and the cats and Howard. Today, I’m reminding myself to take it all in—even the chaotic hectic parts—and hold these moments in my heart.
Second, growing our movement has been awesome . . . but, it’s also been a lot of work 🤗. Our team just analyzed all the results from our post-election survey, and I wanted to share a quick preview. As a group, we share a lot of consensus about MAGAthegood priorities—tackling gun violence, fighting for reproductive freedom, and combating climate change. It’s clear: mothers and others like us will continue leading the way.
I’m so proud of what we’ve accomplished and where we are all headed together. And wow, we’ve been busy! I’m so grateful to have some time right now to focus on the little things in life—like whipping up some of our family’s favorite recipes, pulling out a board game, and just being silly together as a family.
Third, John, I am incredibly grateful for you. You + every single person who showed up, chipped in, joined the Facebook group, followed us on social media, signed up to volunteer, displayed a yard sign, or just sent kind words of encouragement—you are the true power behind Mothers Against Greg Abbott.
In less than a year, our movement has grown from a single protest of one to a truly mighty force thanks to people like you — for that I am so, so thankful.
That's all from me today. Wishing you a blessed Thanksgiving — from the Thompson family to yours. 🦃
