Coffee Mornings, Roadworks and more
*Macmillan Coffee Morning, Wollaton Park Community Centre *
Well done to the volunteers who provide the popular Coffee Shop every Thursday morning. Sally went along to the Coffee Morning on Wednesday 5 October, which* raised £448.07* for the charity.
*Dorket Drive, parking issues *
We have been contacted by residents concerned that the L5 bus route is being blocked on Dorket Drive. We have requested the Parking team investigate the options, including a yellow line down one side of the road.
*British Heart Foundation Pack for Good *
You will probably have seen the British Heart Foundation (BHF) collection points around the area which encourage donations from students, helping recycling, reducing waste issues and provide goods for BHF to sell.
It has been very successful, diverting 718 tonnes of waste since the scheme started. Most of the banks are removed each year in November and returned in February.
BHF are now seeking to make this a permanent arrangement and to apply for the necessary license. We would like to hear your views.
Would you be happy for the scheme to run all year round, or not, and why?
Meet your local Councillors!

Waste Consultation Survey ??️♻️
Waste consultation
*Have your say on how waste and recycling is collected in Nottingham ♻️*
The UK Government has set a national target to increase the amount of waste recycled in England to 65%, while keeping waste that ends up in landfill below 10%. The Government is also introducing new collection rules for food waste and recycling to deliver more consistency across England.
To achieve these goals, the City Council is proposing new options for waste and recycling collections in Nottingham. These include:
* Working on initiatives to help people reuse and repair items rather than throwing them away
* Helping people to manage waste well and recycle the right things
* Starting food waste collections
* Making changes to how we collect recycling
* Offering smaller general waste bins
* Increasing our fleet of ‘alternative-fuel’ bin lorries
To help us shape the final strategy, we want you to tell us your thoughts on waste and recycling in Nottingham. Sharing your opinions will allow us to create a new strategy that works for the city.
