Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
There is so much to be thankful for on this day, and every single day.
After a long, intense six months of campaigning, I’ll admit that I’m exhausted (and looking forward to napping on the couch after a home-cooked Thanksgiving meal!)... but I’m also really energized by what we were able to accomplish and the message we sent with our victory. When our freedom, our safety, and our democracy were on the line — our community stepped up.
I am deeply grateful to the people who elected me to serve them in Congress. The opportunity to represent the community where I grew up and where my kids are growing up is the honor of my lifetime. I’m also grateful for all the volunteers, donors, and staff who believed in our campaign and supported me.
I’m so appreciative of my wife, Rebecca, who has been my partner and my rock. And to my kids, Theo and Cam, who make me proud every single day. Being a father is the best title I could ever have.
I feel thankful to be living in a country where our freedoms and rights are valued and sacred to so many of us. We proved this again a few weeks ago. I’m grateful for our democracy, a fragile yet beautiful system wherein we the people have a say in who represents us and what we stand for.
I’m grateful to the millions of people who put their lives on hold to defend these freedoms overseas and here at home. Our troops and all of our veterans (and their families) who serve our country are heroes who deserve all the gratitude in the world.
I also appreciate all of the hard-working people that keep our country running — first responders, doctors, nurses, hospital workers, cleaning staff, teachers, service workers, union members, and so many more.
Thank you, and I hope you have a happy, restful, and meaningful Thanksgiving.
Yours in service,
Pat
