Progress: For The Meadows
*For a Safer Meadows *
* The City Council has upgraded all the security cameras overseeing public space in The Meadows.
* A new local comms network for the camera have been introduced.
* We are purchasing a further 9 cameras to oversee other places that suffer from public drug-dealing, anti-social behaviour and tipping.
* Tackling drug dealing in public remains our top priority.
*Magnificent Meadows*
A number of great events happened in The Meadows this Summer, including the return of the Riverside Festival and the second Meadows Big Day Out!
* The restored Memorial was available for Remembrance Sunday.
* The Memorial Gardens, with a new gentle ramp to make it easier for all of the family to access and a renewed cafe and a visitor centre, will be finished in January.
* There was an unveiling of the renewed Queen Victoria statue, light and bright in the Autumn sunshine, with a restored sceptre and a new finger was a moment.
* A new play area for Arkwright Park has been provided.
*A Welcoming Meadows*
Welcome to new residents at Trent Bridge Quays, Wilford Crescent East, Traffic Street and Midland House.
A huge welcome to students - over 1,000 bedrooms in Traffic Street alone. Our 2 Universities have grown enormously, bringing hundreds of extra jobs - the commercial demand for student accommodation is huge.
A proposal to provide hundred of apartments and student bedrooms on Queens Road was referred back.

Waste Consultation Survey ??️♻️
Waste consultation
*Have your say on how waste and recycling is collected in Nottingham ♻️*
The UK Government has set a national target to increase the amount of waste recycled in England to 65%, while keeping waste that ends up in landfill below 10%. The Government is also introducing new collection rules for food waste and recycling to deliver more consistency across England.
To achieve these goals, the City Council is proposing new options for waste and recycling collections in Nottingham. These include:
* Working on initiatives to help people reuse and repair items rather than throwing them away
* Helping people to manage waste well and recycle the right things
* Starting food waste collections
* Making changes to how we collect recycling
* Offering smaller general waste bins
* Increasing our fleet of ‘alternative-fuel’ bin lorries
To help us shape the final strategy, we want you to tell us your thoughts on waste and recycling in Nottingham. Sharing your opinions will allow us to create a new strategy that works for the city.
