Dear Friend,

At the SPLC, Thanksgiving is a chance for us to reflect on our
gratitude for every single person who supports our work. Today, and
every day, we're so grateful for supporters like you who make
our work possible year after year.

This year, white supremacist violence once again claimed the lives of
dozens of people in communities across the United States. Many of
these attacks were fueled by dangerous white supremacist propaganda,
especially the "great replacement" myth - a
notorious conspiracy theory with antisemitic and racist roots.

With your support, the SPLC has exposed this dangerous myth and its
origins. Although the number of organized hate groups across the U.S.
remains exceptionally high - we're tracking 733 right now
- the even greater threat is that the extremist ideas underlying
them - like the great replacement theory - have become
normalized in the mainstream of our politics, media and society.

Members of Congress and local officials regularly rely on our
resources and expertise on domestic terrorism issues to better
understand and combat this threat.

To help families and educators prevent the online radicalization of
young people, we partnered with American University to provide free
resources designed to help caregivers, educators, and others recognize
and respond to the radicalization of young people in the COVID-19 era.

And our award-winning Learning for Justice Program provides digital
literacy tools, community guides and other resources, free of charge,
to help local leaders facilitate much-needed conversations around race
and equity.

It's important work, but we cannot do it alone. We need the
mobilization of caring and concerned people like you to stand with us
and fight for the future we want - one where everyone can thrive
and the ideals of equity, justice and liberation are a reality for
all.

We could not do any of our work without the commitment of supporters
like you, so we want to say, once again, thank you for being someone
we can count on to keep up the march for justice.

Best wishes this holiday season,

Your friends at the Southern Poverty Law Center
