John

This year, Reproaction continues its journey of self-reflection, taking time to reflect on our values and the ideals we would like to strive for in the future. At this moment in the year, when so many are reflecting on what they are thankful for, we would like to unequivocally thank those communities who, despite deep and ongoing hurt, have still taken time to show leadership and guidance as we work towards a better, more progressive world.

We must continue to undo many of the myths we grew up with surrounding the holiday and calling out how the false history of the holiday upholds and perpetuates white supremacy and colonization at the expense of Indigenous people.

We continue that journey of unlearning, and hope you will join us. We encourage you to take time today either with yourself or your loved ones (especially if you have younger loved ones still eagerly learning about the world) to reflect on the consequences of colonial seizure of Indigenous lands and continued real-world consequences of perpetuate falsehoods.

In particular, we would like to lift up the work of Crushing Colonialism and Indigenous Women Rising, and encourage you to check them out.

Sincerely,

Erin, Shireen, Anvita, Audrey, Elizabeth, Evonnia, Jacqueline, Jessica, Kara, Nataley, Tenaja, Kate and the Reproaction team
