John,

This Thanksgiving is especially meaningful to all of us here at the Law Enforcement Action Partnership. We have had an extraordinary year. As we look both forward and back with tremendous gratitude, humility, and appreciation, we know we truly have so much to be thankful for.

This year marked 20 years since LEAP’s founding. In 2002, we began speaking out for evidence-based policies that make our communities safer for everyone. John, your support and belief in what we do is what has sustained LEAP over the years. As we reflect on all we have accomplished, a simple "thank you" doesn't do justice to how deeply appreciative we are. You have our commitment that we will continue speaking out, forging ahead to fulfill our shared vision of a world in which criminal justice and drug policies keep our communities safer, not more divided, prioritizing accountability, transparency, and compassion throughout the justice system.

Thanksgiving is a day to celebrate connection: the relationships both old and new that LEAP has built internally and in the world of justice system and drug policy reform. Our speaker's bureau continues to grow as more criminal justice professionals join our mission, and we continue to partner with organizations pursuing mutual goals. This year we have added new members to our board of directors, and for the first time in three years, our staff and board were able to gather in person -- strengthening our "LEAP family" bonds. We were so grateful to be able to spend time together, reflecting on our work and setting goals for the year ahead. Today and everyday, we embrace all the relationships that enrich our lives and make working together both meaningful and productive.

We wish you a peaceful holiday, full of connection and gratitude

Happy Thanksgiving!

Diane & the LEAP Staff
