Dear Friend,

As Mercy and I prepare to take some time with our family this Thanksgiving to reflect on all the many blessings in our lives, we wanted to say thank you for all that you do to protect and defend the principles that inspired America's founders -- and are still worth fighting for.

Thanksgiving Day, first introduced by President George Washington, was later confirmed as a National Day of Thanksgiving by President Abraham Lincoln. Both presidents understood the importance of gratitude and having a thankful heart -- and why, as a nation, we should take time out of our busy schedules to stop and be thankful.

We can be thankful, as we head into 2023, that we have a system of representative and accountable government that affords us the opportunity to vote politicians in and out of office -- and this year, in particular, we can be grateful that we will have a new majority in the House of Representatives.

I am grateful to be able to work with each of you on our shared principles and values.

Have a Blessed Thanksgiving,
Matt
