Hi John,
I first learned how to cook by watching my mom. Even though she worked long hours as a nurse, she always made time for my sisters and me. And my mom’s love language was food.
Now that I’m a mom myself—I wonder how she made everything look so easy.
As a child, I never realized that she must have been tired, especially when it came to preparing for the holidays. Instead, she filled our kitchen with love, and MoTown from the radio, and a lightness that I still hold onto. The times I spent with my mom in our small kitchen in Baltimore—those are still some of my best memories.
A Thanksgiving favorite of our family's was my mom’s pumpkin pie—and unless yours is an apple pie family, the same is likely true for you. For those of us who get it, there is something truly special about pumpkin pie.
Personally, I feel I have been chasing the perfect pumpkin pie recipe for decades. Now, I’d like to pass on our recipe to your family as my way of thanking you for your support. I hope our recipe sparks as many memories for your family as it has done for mine.
