No matter how you slice it, there is no denying that Trump committed historically heinous, illegal acts surrounding the January 6th attack on the Capitol as well as after he left office, and he must be punished accordingly . And although the January 6th Committee’s work will not continue in the new GOP-lead House, the fight to hold MAGA Republicans accountable and defend our democracy goes on.

With Democrats ushering in diverse new leadership and navigating a razor-thin margin in the House, this new Congress will be exciting and important to watch. Not only is our party leadership progressing with the times, but every move we make goes so much further now. If we win over a few moderate Republicans to pass our agenda, as President Biden has proven he can do time and time again, or with just a handful of resignations, we can nullify the GOP’s majority and continue our work delivering for the American people as we have the last two years.
