It is no secret that we are living through global economic struggles caused by the COVID-19 pandemic followed by Putin’s ruthless invasion of Ukraine, which has disrupted food and fuel supplies.

The economic burden on Americans’ finances has been undeniable. Another thing that has been undeniable is the GOP’s cynical rhetoric, which seeks to saddle Democrats with all the blame.

While the GOP has been spending all its effort to spread misinformation, the Biden administration and Democrats have been working to make recovery a reality.

With the passage of the Inflation Reduction Act, the Biden administration has invested in our economy and taken necessary steps to reduce financial stress on lower and middle-class Americans. This legislation caps the costs of prescription drugs via Medicare, invests in lower energy pricing, and extends the ACA with lower premiums.

These issues impact us daily – the prices of our medications, our energy bills, and our ability to pay for our medical care. These are common issues for all of us, and thankfully we have competent and compassionate leadership creating laws to address these issues.

Paying taxes isn’t fun, but when we see where the money is going, we become more aware of how it impacts us as a society. That is why the Inflation Reduction Act also sought to make sure that corporations pay their fair share in a 15% minimum Corporate Tax – most of us aren’t millionaires and billionaires, and those with most of the wealth should at least make sure no one starves because of it.

In addition, if Democrats can expand their Senate majority, there are plans for additional funding of healthcare organizations and research to prepare us against evolving COVID-19 variants.

If we are able to hold the Senate, and also introduce legislation in the House with minimal roadblocks, we will be able to get more accomplished for the American people to ease the burden of rising costs.

Keep in mind that our endorsed candidates and the Democratic party has plans to address these issues – not just pointing fingers at the other side.
