It’s no secret that the Biden family has a corrupt past filled with influence peddling and suspicious business transactions. Yet for decades, these highly suspect deals have gone completely unchecked – highlighting the infamous two-tiered system of justice rotting our nation. Thankfully, accountability is coming in the 118th Congress. Last week, I proudly joined my Republican Oversight Committee colleagues, led by future Chairman James Comer (R-KY), in announcing our plans to fully investigate the Biden family’s business schemes and federal crimes when we retake the majority in January. One of our main priorities will be uncovering the truth behind concerning business transactions, which have led the Bidens to rack up more than 150 Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs). Banks file SARs to the Treasury Department when a transaction is suspected to be related to criminal activity, such as money laundering, human trafficking, or fraud. Additionally, we are determined to understand the extent to which the President himself is compromised by years of shady foreign business dealings with foreign adversaries, including China. I look forward to conducting proper oversight into the Biden family’s unsettling business practices in order to provide accountability to the American people and protect our national security.

Since Russia unlawfully invaded Ukraine in February, the United States has poured billions of taxpayer dollars into Ukraine’s coffers to bolster President Zelensky’s military capabilities. Alarmingly, there has been zero oversight into this pricey funding. Furthermore, Washington has been eager to squander billions in the defense of a foreign nation’s borders – yet has failed to defend our own. Due to my concern about this troubling lack of accountability, I introduced an amendment to the National Defense Authorization Act to install an Inspector General for Ukrainian Military Aid back in July – but Democrats voted down my commonsense measure. Now, months later, legitimate questions and eyebrow-raising revelations have emerged regarding U.S. aid to Ukraine. While Democrats deliberately denied oversight by rejecting my amendment, Republicans are laser-focused on unveiling the truth. Just last week, I proudly joined Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) in introducing a Resolution of Inquiry requesting a full audit of every penny sent to Ukraine. As Members of Congress are supposed to be responsible stewards of taxpayer dollars, it is incumbent upon every solitary representative to deliver fiscal transparency to the American people. Rest assured, I remain committed to providing answers to you and your family, as well as prioritizing the well-being of our Constitutional Republic.

Last week, I welcomed several University of North Georgia (UNG) Reserve Officers' Training Corps (ROTC) Cadets to Capitol Hill, where I spoke to them about their inspirational patriotism and dedication to our nation. As a 28-year Navy combat veteran, I was honored to reflect on my own service with these young men and women, as well as discuss the importance and privilege of defending our precious liberties. I’m proud to represent these courageous Cadets, and I’m thankful for their unwavering commitment to our country.

Additionally, I enjoyed meeting with Jackson Electric Membership Corporation (EMC), which is one of the nation’s largest electric cooperatives and the largest of Georgia’s 41 EMCs. Jackson EMC powers homes and small businesses throughout the Ninth, including those in Jackson, Madison, Lumpkin, Hall, and Banks Counties. During our meeting, we discussed ways we can work together to best serve Northeast Georgians and how I can assist their operations through my work in Washington.
