My name is Greta Carnes, and you’ve heard from me before. I’m the National Organizing Director at Pete for America. And I’m here to talk to you about just that -- organizing.

We talk a lot about “organizing” in politics, but a lot of people -- even the most politically engaged folks out there -- aren’t necessarily familiar with how important and empowering the day-to-day work of organizing communities is.

We’re earning support one conversation and one relationship at a time. Because that’s not just how you earn votes -- it’s how you build a movement powerful enough to change the direction of the country. And that’s what we’re here to do.

So what do our organizers do every day?

They build relationships with people, just like you and me, on the ground. It’s as simple as that.

If you’re an undecided voter, an organizer might ask you to attend a rally with Pete in your area. If you’re a supporter, they might ask you to knock doors to let your friends and neighbors know why you’re so excited about Pete. And if you’re already a Team Pete volunteer, they’ll ask you to help recruit and mobilize other volunteers -- you’ll become what we call a “Super Vol.” In Iowa and Nevada, they might train you to be a Precinct Leader.

We know organizing wins elections. And we know our organizing program -- grounded in the belief that our supporters on the ground are the best messengers to talk about Pete -- is working. We can win.

But, in order to make real, lasting, grassroots change -- and in order to make sure as many people as possible hear about Pete -- we need more resources. And with just 28 days until the first contest, we have no time to waste.
