Hi there,

State legislatures begin their 2023 sessions in less than two months, and we’re anticipating widespread attacks by extremist politicians on ballot measures.

For more than a century, the citizen-driven ballot measure process has been a critical part of our democracy. It has allowed voters to petition and place issues on the ballot and enact them directly into law.

Ballot measures force governments to respond to the needs of their citizens. But as sessions begin, we’re anticipating multiple state legislatures will make moves to deny or restrict access for people to the ballot measure process.

Will you join us in fighting back against their attacks? [[link removed]]

YES! I’M IN! [[link removed]]Since our creation in 2016, we’ve won 31 of the 33 ballot measure campaigns we’ve run across the country.

These measures help provide working people in America with higher wages, expanded healthcare access, reproductive freedom, paid leave, ending predatory payday loans, and police accountability. Our work offers life-changing improvements for millions of Americans in blue, purple, and red states.

But our progress could come to a screeching halt in 2023 if extremist state legislatures have their way.

Extremist politicians know we are winning. They see our work as a direct threat to their entrenched interests. These extremist politicians understand if voters can use ballot measures to bypass legislatures intent on blocking worker-friendly change, they lose.

That’s why these extremists try to change the rules in the middle of the game, whether it’s by making it harder to collect signatures, raising the threshold for winning at the ballot box, or asking extremist judges to overturn the outcome.

We launched our Ballot Measure Rescue Campaign to prevent these undemocratic attacks. If you’re with us in the fight to protect the ballot measure process and continue our work toward progress, will you add your name so that we know we have your backing, team? [[link removed]]
