John,
It seems like our country is under constant attack. Communities ravaged by gun mass shootings barely have time to start grieving before the next tragedy takes place.
Last night, a gunman killed six people and injured five more in a mass shooting at a Walmart in Chesapeake, VA.
This is the second shooting in Virginia in only a week, following three football players killed at the University in Charlottesville.
It comes days after five people were killed at an LGBTQ+ club in Colorado Springs, CO.
This is an epidemic, John. Meanwhile, lawmakers like Virginia Governor, Glenn Youngkin, and Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO3) offer their thoughts and prayers and refuse to take action against gun violence and protect their constituents. Their empty words are deadly and I’m done waiting for action.
In the face of far too many tragedies, there is a proven way we can save lives : We must pass common sense gun violence prevention legislation. This means closing deadly loopholes, stopping the flow of crime guns, and banning assault weapons – in short, doing everything within Congress’s power to finally save lives.
I’ve had enough, and I know you have too. Will you join me in speaking out today – to honor those we have lost and fight like hell for those we can still protect? Add your name to our petition and demand lifesaving action from Congress.
We cannot wait another day, for the next tragedy.
