John,

This Thanksgiving, we at ISN are grateful for you, the Ignatian family, and the ways that you've engaged in our work to build a more just world.

We are grateful for...

...the ways in which our network is both rooted in the long legacy of work for justice—and also constantly renewing, responding in transformative ways to the signs of the times...

Students placed crosses in fencing at the culmination of the annual Ignatian Family Teach-In for Justice Prayer for the Jesuit Martyrs. This ritual recalls the vigils at the gates of the School of the Americas at Fort Benning in Georgia, after the 1989 murders of the Jesuit martyrs and their companions. This year, the crosses bore the names of a people victimized by violence and injustice in our world today.
...a growing commitment to ethical purchasing at our network institutions, living out the call of Catholic social teaching by caring for people and planet...

John Carroll University students participated in ISN's first Catholic Ethical Purchasing Alliance immersion in spring of 2022. They explored the impact of ethical, sustainable production on people and the environment in North Carolina. Participants received ethically-made hats made from reclaimed yarn, originally destined for a landfill.

...and a network committed to building a more just, equitable world.

As a conveners of a network committed to faith and justice, ISN has developed resources and programming designed to confront white supremacy. This includes the Parish Journey for Racial Justice & Equity series, the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion educator series, and Just Conversations with Dr. Nathan Sessoms and Jamal Adams (pictured), ISN's podcast exploring the intersections of race, faith, and Catholic education.
THANK YOU for being part of the Ignatian Solidarity Network's mission to network, educate, and form advocates for social justice!

Peace,

Christopher Kerr
