Dear John,

At the Equality Virginia office, 2020 is off to a roaring start and we have three incredible months planned for you! We are so excited to be on the precipice of legislative victories this General Assembly session, and we're eager to provide you with plenty of ways to get involved, connect with your lawmakers, and make your voice heard. After session is over, we have a big party planned - better known as the Commonwealth Dinner - and, we can't wait to celebrate with you on March 28th. Check out the details below to learn more about how you can join us. We look forward to seeing you often these next three months!

Crowd the Capitol: January and Feburary 2020

We’re setting our sights on winning LGBTQ nondiscrimination protections in 2020, to ensure that all Virginians can live free from discrimination in employment, housing, and public spaces. It’s important for our legislators to see that support for LGBTQ freedom comes from people from all walks of life and from all corners of this state, and that support for these protections is broad and diverse. For that reason, each of the Crowd the Capitol days will have a different theme - but don't worry - you can join us for any of these events, regardless of which group you belong to! Check out our Facebook page to connect with other people in your area who may be interested in joining you in Richmond!

Day of Action: February 4, 2020

Our Day of Action is only one month away! We hope that you will join us in Richmond on Tuesday, February 4th to make your voice heard. This exciting day starts with you networking with other attendees over a light breakfast and coffee. Then, head over to the General Assembly Building to speak with your legislators and personally tell them why you expect this to be the year that Virginia protects the LGBTQ community from discrimination. After lunch, attend a variety of workshops on topics ranging from housing instability to religious liberty. Then, we wrap up the day with a festive Legislative Reception! If you belong to an organization, help us spread the word and sign up to be a co-sponsor for this important day of advocacy. Check our our Facebook event page and connect with folks in your area who already plan to attend. If you live in the Hampton Roads area, be sure to take advantage of the free bus that will bring you to Richmond!

17th Annual Commonwealth Dinner: March 28, 2020

Were you one of the nearly 1,100 people last year who attended the Commonwealth Dinner? If so, then you remember what an incredible, celebratory evening we had together. If you weren't able to join us last year, please take a moment to check out our Facebook photo album, which beautifully captures the evening's highlights - from our OUTstanding Virginians to the after-Dinner dance - it was a night to remember. If you love to host friends and family, or simply enjoy bringing people together, we hope that you'll become a Table Host this year. All you have to do is simply get the word out and invite guests to sit at your table. To learn more about this special event, and how you can get involved, visit our Commonwealth Dinner page for more details.
