Thanksgiving is my favorite time of year and not just because of family, food, and football (although that’s pretty spectacular). It’s a time for grateful reflection, and I’m thankful for so much this year.

For my family. For good friends, neighbors, and colleagues. For the state employees who work around the clock to keep our state going. For the steadfast resilience of North Carolinians through times of hardship.

John, Thanksgiving is about community, and I am so proud and grateful that you are part of mine.

I hope you will take the opportunity this season to share your gratitude with others, whether that’s by giving a little more to charity, helping a neighbor in need, or simply saying thank you to someone you care about.
