It’s time for pro-life policy-makers to go on offense <[link removed]> – The GOP finally managed to take control of the House of Representatives. So, what should pro-life lawmakers do to advance their cause in the next Congress? Some may be tempted to avoid this topic altogether, as too many Republicans did for the last several months. But silence isn’t an acceptable strategy. Instead, they should go on offense and advance policies that protect innocent unborn life while exposing Democratic extremism on abortion. Face-Checking 7 Claims by Defenders of Democrats’ Same-Sex Marriage Bill <[link removed]> - It took help from (some) people and organizations of faith,
such as the National Association of Evangelicals and, most surprisingly, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, which gave defecting senators enough political cover to vote against the interests of the people who put them in office. Additionally, a subset of these advocates, including law professors I respect, raise sophisticated legal arguments <[link removed]> purporting to
show that the bill actually improves the state of religious liberty in America. This piece demonstrates why this view is grossly wrong. Heritage Expert: Jay Richards <[link removed]> and Emma Waters <[link removed]>
Heritage Releases 2023 Index of Economic Freedom Trade Freedom Scores <[link removed]>- The Heritage Foundation today released its 2023 trade freedom scores from the “2023 Index of Economic Freedom.” These scores are a vital part of each nation’s economic freedom ranking and are closely watched by economic experts and organizations, including the U.S. Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC), which has for years used Heritage’s annual trade freedom scores in determining countries’ eligibility for MCC assistance programs. North Korea’s Increasing Nuclear and Missile
Threat to the U.S. and Its Allies <[link removed]> - The North Korean regime’s increasing rate and diversity of missile launches shows that Pyongyang is making significant progress toward implementing a more capable and flexible nuclear strategy, including pre-emptive strikes with strategic, tactical,
and battlefield nuclear weapons. Kim Jong-un’s willingness to resume missile flights over Japan, and ICBM launches, as well as initiating extensive military exercises and increased provocations close to the inter-Korean border, increase regional tensions and risk triggering a military crisis that would involve the United States and its allies. Who Are the Left-Wing Donors Boosting America’s Youth Vote? <[link removed]> - The investment in voting by younger Americans,
which included money from organizations tied to Arabella Advisors, leftist financier George Soros, and eBay founder Pierre Omidyar among others, may have paid off: The youth vote cut decisively for Democrats <[link removed]> by about 28%, according to the Center for
Information & Research on Civic Learning and Engagement at Tufts University, also known as CIRCLE. The turnout among voters ages 18 to 29 was 27% of those voting in the 2022 midterm elections, slightly lagging their turnout in the 2018 midterms.  The clear partisan gap is a fairly recent phenomenon since the Tufts center’s research shows that in elections over the past 30 years, the Democrat advantage in the youth vote was more marginal and often aligned with the overall
electorate, CIRCLE Director Kei Kawashima-Ginsberg told The Daily Signal. The Daily Signal Expert: Fred Lucas <[link removed]>

Tech News You Need to Know: Trump Freed From Twitter Jail; FTX’s Bizarre Business Practices <[link removed]> - Donald Trump’s Twitter account has been restored to him. The former president’s Twitter account is one of several high-profile ones to be resurrected following entrepreneur Elon Musk’s takeover of the social media platform. “I think [with] Musk getting in and seeing what was happening behind the scenes, he realized pretty quickly that the content moderation rules that had been put in place by the previous regimes were actually completely arbitrary,” Jake Denton, research associate in The Heritage Foundation’s Tech Policy Center, says. Historic Levels of Illegal Immigration on Southern Border Likely to Get Worse <[link removed]> - Title 42’s imminent end is not ideal, to say the least. In particular, it’s not ideal for those who want to contain an already exploding border crisis. U.S. Customs and Border Protection reported more than 230,000 border encounters in October alone, a record. According to Fox News <[link removed]>, CBP also estimated there were about 64,000 “gotaways” in October, as well. Those are illegal border-crossers who weren’t apprehended. The October numbers weren’t even an outlier. There were 2.76 million illegal border-crossers in fiscal year 2022, another record <[link removed]>. It shattered the previous record of 1.82 million crossings, set last year. So, the total number of border-crossers apprehended is more than the populations of half of all U.S. states <[link removed]>. And those are just the apprehensions. Again, an untold number of other illegal immigrants crossed the border without being caught. Heritage Expert: Mike Howell <[link removed]>
