CLIMATE CHANGE
Dr. David Deming
Geophysics
University of Oklahoma
OUR SPEAKER THIS WEDNESDAY:

David Deming is professor of Arts and Sciences at the University of Oklahoma in Norman. He graduated from Indiana University in 1983 with a BS degree in geology, and received a Ph.D in geophysics from the University of Utah in 1988. Prior to his arrival at the University of Oklahoma in 1992, Deming held a National Research Council postdoctoral fellowship at the US Geological Survey in California.

From 1992 through 2005, Dr. Deming was an assistant and associate professor in the School of Geology and Geophysics at the University of Oklahoma, and served on the OU Faculty Senate from 1998 through 2001.

Deming is the author of more than forty peer-reviewed research papers, a textbook on hydrogeology, and the series Science and Technology in World History. He is an associate editor for the academic journals Petroleum Geoscience and Ground Water.

He has published articles on environmental and energy issues in The Wall Street Journal, Washington Times, Investor's Business Daily, Oklahoman, and other newspapers. He is frequently interviewed by the media on issues related to energy and climate.

In 2006, Dr. Deming testified before the US Senate on global warming. The Senate hearings were opened by Oklahoma Senator, James Inhofe.
Senator Inhofe opened the hearing saying:

Today’s hearing is the fourth global warming hearing I have held as Committee chairman. We will examine the media’s role in presenting the science of climate change. Poorly conceived policy decisions may result from the media’s over-hyped reporting.

Much of the mainstream media has subverted its role as an objective source of information on climate change into the role of an advocate ... the alarmism not just continuing in the media, it’s advancing. They are becoming more desperate because former supporters of their views are now changing their position.

Claude Allegre is a French geophysicist and former Socialist Party Leader. A member of both the French and U.S. Academies of Science, Allegre now says the cause of warming remains unknown and the alarmism “has become a very lucrative business for some people.” In short, their motivation is money. And he’s right… its about money. Read more here.
Hear are a few of Dr. Deming's comments to the U. S. Senate:

In 1995, I published a short paper in the academic journal Science. In that study, I reviewed how borehole temperature data recorded a warming of about one degree Celsius in North America over the last 100 to 150 years.

The week the article appeared, I was contacted by a reporter for National Public Radio. He offered to interview me, but only if I would state that the warming was due to human activity. When I refused to do so, he hung up on me.

Around the time my paper in Science was published, I received another astonishing contact. In an email, a major researcher in the area of climate change, said to me, "We have to get rid of the Medieval Warm Period."

The Medieval Warm Period (MWP) was a time of unusually warm weather that began around 1000 AD and persisted until a cold period known as the "Little Ice Age" took hold in the 14th century.

The existence of the MWP had been recognized in the scientific literature for decades. But now it was a major embarrassment ... it had to be "gotten rid of."

In 1999, Michael Mann [climatologist who promotes global warming] and his colleagues published a reconstruction of past temperature in which the MWP simply vanished. The work of Mann and his colleagues was initially accepted uncritically, even though it contradicted the results of more than 100 previous studies. (Other researchers have since reaffirmed that the Medieval Warm Period was both warm and global in its extent.)

There is an overwhelming bias today in the media regarding the issue of global warming. In the past two years, this bias has bloomed into an irrational hysteria ... As a result, the public has become vastly misinformed on this and other environmental issues. Read his full testimony here.

America's School Children
Political Props
by Bob Linn
Civics was once a wholesome element in American education. It has now morphed into something dark and sinister. The goal is to use the children we send to government schools as advocates for a society controlled from top down by government bureaucrats.

More than one OCPAC speaker has documented the fact that the curriculum used in America’s government schools originated at the United Nations. Children are a political reality to the United Nations (U.N.) They are a planned ingredient in the U.N. mission to flatten the world’s economies. The global warming hysteria is a key element in that mission.
In March last year, educator and writer, Robert Pondiscio, pointed out that our government schools now engage in what he calls a manipulative and cynical use of children as political props in the service of causes they understand superficially, if at all.

Pondiscio goes on...
The most recent bridge-too-far moment was the viral video of student “activists,” some of them quite young, from the youth climate change group Sunrise Movement going toe-to-toe with Senator Dianne Feinstein over the Green New Deal.

The image below demonstrates the project going on in America's schools to use our children against American freedom.
Our speaker this coming Wednesday was one of more than 300 scientists from around the world to sign the Lindzen petition to president Trump urging him to withdraw from the ill-advised United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC)
Richard S. Lindzen organized these scientists.

He is emeritus professor of meteorology at MIT, where he was the Alfred P. Sloan Professor, beginning in 1983. Prior to that he was the Robert P. Burden Professor of Dynamic Meteorology at Harvard University.

He is a member of the National Academy of Sciences and fellow of both the American Meteorological Society and the American Association for the Advancement of Science.
There is more about Dr. Lindzen that bears on his knowledge of the issue:

He received the Jule Charney award for "highly significant research" in the atmospheric sciences from the American Meteorological Society and the Distinguished Engineering Achievement Award from the Engineer's Council in 2009.

Lindzen's pioneering research in atmospheric dynamics has led to his conclusion that the sensitivity of surface temperature to increases in atmospheric carbon dioxide is considerably below that necessary to generate disastrous climate change. At Cato, Lindzen focuses on the interaction between science and policymakers. He studies whether the move from largely private funding to public support has introduced biases into science and the public policies informed by science.
Dr. Deming was asked to sign the petition Dr. Lindzen sent to President Trump in 2017. I have edited the letter, but here is the gist:

In just a few weeks, more than 300 eminent scientists and other qualified individuals from around the world have signed the petition below, urging you to withdraw from the ill-advised United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). More are signing on every day.

We petition the American and other governments to change course on an outdated international agreement that targets minor greenhouse gases, primarily Carbon Dioxide, CO2 for harsh regulation … there is clear evidence that increased atmospheric carbon dioxide is environmentally helpful to food crops and other plants that nourish all life. It is plant food, not poison.

Candidates Trump and Pence promised not only to keep the US out of a harmful international climate agreement, but also to rollback misdirected, pointless government restrictions of CO2 emissions.

My fellow scientists support you as you seek to keep your campaign promises.
As those who read this weekly newsletter are well aware, the United Nation's push to institute global warming policy has filtered to our local schools. This U.S. agenda is affecting our children and grandchildren.

I took pictures below with my cell phone as I passed by Norman High School recently. I edited them together to show some of the signs better. However, reports of similar activity are available from many other Oklahoma schools.
Come this Wednesday to learn about how your local news media, your local schools, and your state universities are working to destroy our freedoms using our children to do their bidding.

Don’t miss Dr. Deming this Wednesday!

The front-page issue facing Oklahoma’s Governor Stitt is the relationship between the State of Oklahoma and the Indian Tribes of Oklahoma. Charlie Meadows and Steve Anderson discussed this issue at length Wednesday.
Two days later (last Friday), Governor Stitt hired the Seattle-based law firm Perkins Coie to represent the state in its dispute with the tribes over gaming compacts.
The move created a bit of discussion because of the relationship between this firm and George Soros. However, it is no doubt very experienced in negotiating on behalf of state governments and Indian Tribes. See their portfolio here.
Letter to Chick fil A
Add your signature today!

A few weeks ago, the president of the American Family Association send a very kindly worded letter to the CEO of Chick-fil-A asking for clarification of statements made by Chick-fil-A leadership.

The issue, of course, is their withdrawal of support of Christian organizations in order to fund, instead, leftist and LGBTQ causes. Read Tim's letter here.

Adding your signature to the letter will help Chick-fil-A to understand that we are concerned. Your signature will encourage them to break their silence to the questions raised by AFA. Add your signature here.
The OCPAC compact with City Elders is significant for both organizations. Most importantly, the partnership is significant for the future of Oklahoma.
