My e-newsletter
Dear Constituent,
As you probably know, following the General Election, I am no longer the Member of Parliament for Birmingham Northfield. I will therefore no longer be sending out regular e-newsletters reporting on my work that you are signed up to receive.
Now I am no longer an MP, under the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) and other relevant legislation, I have an obligation to destroy my data records of work I have carried out on behalf of constituents in line with my own privacy policy – see http://richardburden.com/privacy-policy/. I will therefore also be deleting my e-newsletter mailing list.
If I have also taken up casework on your behalf, I will write to you separately about destruction of the data records I hold about your case.
Please note that the Houses of Parliament will also disable my e-mail addresses [email protected] and [email protected] on 16th January 2020, so anything sent to either of those addresses after that date will not get to me. @parliament.uk e-mail addresses for all of my staff will be disabled at the same time. Therefore, if you wish to e-mail me from now on, please use the address [email protected].
I am sorry that I am no longer able to take up cases as an elected representative on behalf of constituents who have approached me for help. However, the rules under which Parliament operates leave me with no alternative but to close down my office shortly after the election.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who voted for me at the election for your support, and to thank the people of Birmingham Northfield for giving me the privilege of serving as your Member of Parliament for so many years.
Best wishes,
Richard Burden
