I’m checking in quickly because I wanted to share an update with you.

As one of Pramila’s most engaged supporters, I know you’ll share my
concern that our fundraising numbers have been in rapid decline — dipping
far under levels we would expect. It’s very disappointing,
John, and if things don’t look up
soon, we will have to make some tough calls. See for yourself:

We’re only 57% of the way to the funds we’d raised by this time last month
— almost $18,000 behind. That kind of money adds up quickly on a campaign
of our size and influence, which is why I wrote to you as soon as I saw
these numbers.

Looking ahead, we’re approaching the end of the year, and the funds we
bring in now will inform the level of organizing and campaigning we can do
in the new year. For all of these reasons, I’m coming directly to you to
make a personal appeal.

One of the widely-known things about fundraising for a campaign in
November (especially after an election!) is that numbers can start to drop
off while people understandably prioritize other things. As the holidays
come on, spending money on political causes is not an investment that
seems as urgent.

But as the chair of our Progressive Caucus in Congress, Pramila’s work
uplifts us all — and helps to secure historic investments that will have
ripple effects in our lives for years to come. In other words, we’re worth
