News from Representative Larson

Dear Friends,

We have made great progress this Congress to ensure the Hartford region has the funding it needs to advance the goals of Hartford 400:

  • Reconnecting cut-off neighborhoods like Hartford’s North End,
  • Recapturing the riverfront by freeing up hundreds of acres of land on both sides of the river,
  • Expanding transit options for our region’s residents,
  • and Fixing New England’s #1 traffic chokehold, the I-84/91 interchange.

Rep. Larson joins local leaders to announce new federal funding for the Hartford 400 project.

Between the record infrastructure funding we secured for Connecticut and $900,000 in new federal funds I announced today, this community-led vision is moving forward to reimagine the Hartford region as we approach its 400th birthday in 2035.

These funds will allow the iQuilt Partnership to continue working with the community to reconnect neighborhoods, update our outdated transportation network, create jobs, and repair flood control systems on both sides of the river. After we passed the once-in-a-generation Bipartisan Infrastructure Law last year, iQuilt’s work will bolster the ongoing Greater Hartford Mobility Study to realize the vision of Hartford 400.

I am committed to delivering more federal resources to upgrade our region’s infrastructure and will work to ensure the community continues to play an outsized role in shaping this vision for the future.
