Thankfully, our dedicated community stepped up and PAWS Chicago was able to rush Buddy to our Medical Center—the only shelter hospital in the Midwest able to treat his condition.

Buddy went straight into an oxygen tank, and our team got to work with blood tests and a thorough physical exam that revealed heart disease as well as two painfully infected, almost completely blocked ears.

With a careful balance of medication, oxygen therapy, ear flushing, and (soon) dental surgery, Buddy's true personality is starting to shine. Finally free of pain, he's like a whole new pup!
