NATIONAL HEALTH AND WELFARE PLAN SPOUSE AUDIT BEGINS IN JANURARY, 2020
Beginning January 1, 2020, The Railroad Employees National Health and
Welfare Plan and The National Railway Carriers and United
Transportation Union (NRC/UTU) Health and Welfare Plan (each a "Plan")
will conduct a spouse eligibility audit, which will be administered by
Railroad Enrollment Services.

Railroad employees covered under either of the above Plans will be
required to submit proper documentation by March 31, 2020 verifying
their marital status in order for their spouses (and any stepchildren
associated with the marriage) to remain covered.

Employees will receive an initial mailing in December explaining the
audit process with instructions on how to respond, the Plan's
definition of a spouse, and preferred documents for verification.

If an employee does not respond to the audit request in accordance with
the instructions provided, their spouse (and any stepchildren
associated with the marriage, if applicable) will be terminated from
the medical, dental, and vision plans as soon as administratively
practicable.
