John,
With the end of 2022 around the corner, we’re already reflecting on this past year and all that we have achieved together. We’re so grateful for this entire community and how each of you has shown up to help in the fight for justice.
So, we want you to be the first to see the impact you’ve helped make over the past 12 months — take a look at our newly released 2022 annual report.
In the last year, we’ve done a lot together. These are just a few highlights:
- Nine people regained their freedom through the Innocence Project’s work.
- We worked closely with a seasoned legal team, as well as community leaders, advocates, and activists to stop the execution of Pervis Payne in Tennessee.
- We joined Melissa Lucio's legal team in Texas and through our work helped obtained a stay of her execution just two days before she was scheduled to be executed.
- Our work led to more than 10 state policy wins to transform the system and prevent bad practices that drive wrongful convictions.
If you’d like to see more highlights from the year, check out the Innocence Project’s 2022 annual report right now.
John, none of this would be possible without the unyielding support of people like you. However you showed up to support us — whether it was as a first-time donor or a longtime one, sharing a post on social media, or contacting your local lawmakers about a bill — we deeply appreciate you.
Thank you for being a part of such an important mission and vision.
With gratitude,
— The Innocence Project Team
