John,
This year’s Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) was a huge step forward in the battle against climate change. By making historic investments into clean energy and strengthening regulations on carbon emissions, we proved to the world our dedication to fighting climate change at home. Now, SEEC members are working to ensure we demonstrate that same commitment abroad as well.
Yesterday, our SEEC members partnered with 15 Democratic Senators to send joint letters to the House and Senate Appropriations Committees calling for robust international climate funding to be included in the final package of appropriations bills for Fiscal Year 2023.
While IRA was a monumental achievement for climate action in the United States, Democrats' razor thin majorities in the House and Senate made it difficult to include provisions for international climate funding in the final text of the legislation. As historic as IRA was, we must build upon its gains and ensure we uphold our promises to fund climate aid for countries facing the worst of climate change's effects.
Our SEEC members are the leading voices in Congress fighting to bring about meaningful climate action both at home and abroad – and they need YOUR help to guarantee funding for climate aid is included in FY23 appropriations. Can you chip in a donation to support them as they work to get this critical funding included in the final bills? [[link removed]]

Let's face it, John. The United States is already falling short on our international climate commitments – and with a Republican controlled House on the horizon for 2023, we risk falling even further behind. We’ve come a long way with the passage of IRA, but we still have a very long way to go.
As one of the leading greenhouse gas emitters around the world, it is our responsibility to take a leading role in the global fight against climate change. That includes supporting partner countries as they fight to make the same strides that we did with IRA and build resilience against the worst consequences of the climate crisis.
SEEC members are fighting to ensure this year’s appropriations bills do just that. Can you make a donation to support them as they work to uphold our climate commitments around the world? [[link removed]]

Thanks to your help in 2020, SEEC PAC was able to re-elect over 95% of our pro-environment members to the U.S. House of Representatives — defying the odds on a night where Democrats lost seats. Now we are counting on you to help our SEEC members pass climate, clean energy and environmental justice policies in the 117th Congress while we undo the damage of the Trump Administration.
