Hello,

This month has been incredibly busy to say the least.

A couple of weeks ago we saw millions of voters use their voices to elect their representatives, pass measures, and stand up for their future. And I’m proud to say that I will be continuing to represent Washington’s 1st Congressional District.

I’m also happy to have colleagues in the next Congress like Senator Patty Murray Representative, Kim Schrier, and Member-elect Marie Gluesenkamp Perez!

By exercising our right to vote we fought for abortion rights, healthcare access, and support for our children and families. We showed that every vote counts.

No matter how busy the election got, it didn’t stop us from continuing to make progress for Washington state.

I am proud to introduce the Preventing Unnecessary Deaths During Life-Threatening Events (PUDDLE) Act. This will work to protect families from having their electricity shut off during extreme weather events like heat waves and cold snaps.

This is an issue that hit Washington state directly when 157 people died in the 2021 heat wave, making it the deadliest weather-related event in state history. Washington only has protections for cold weather and this legislation will help ensure families in every state have these lifesaving protections.

My priority has always been to help Washingtonians in any way I can. From infrastructure to healthcare, I will continue to fight to bring essential resources to children, families, and communities.

Thank you for always standing with me.
– Suzan
