I’ll tell you what I told NBC News, John: even when young people put in the work, we’re still considered “outsiders” in politics.

Young candidates like me trying to make our mark on democracy face tons of barriers – from being told we’re too young and inexperienced, to not having access to wealthy donors.

People discredit young, new faces in politics, but we’re the ones trying to lead the charge to save our democracy.

But John, just because the barriers are stacked against young candidates doesn’t mean we can’t succeed.

This year’s midterm elections PROVED that young people are the future of our democracy, with groundbreaking young candidates from diverse backgrounds winning up and down the ballot.

I’m proud to have the opportunity to have run a progressive campaign fighting for a brighter future – and now I’m thrilled to have the Brighter Future PAC to uplift young, diverse candidates like myself to showcase their strength and progress in the fight to break down the barriers stacked against them.
