Friend, in just a few weeks, Georgia’s Democratic Senator, Reverend Raphael Warnock, is headed to a runoff election in a race that will determine whether Democrats grow their Senate majority to 51-49 or remain at a 50-50 deadlock.

Rev. Warnock’s Trump-endorsed Republican opponent, Herschel Walker, has raised nearly $8 million within the first two days of his runoff campaign and is already spending over a million dollars to flood the airwaves with disinformation.

While campaigning for Walker before the midterms, Nikki Haley, the former UN ambassador under Trump, falsely claimed Rev. Warnock helped President Biden increase immigration at the Southern border stating, “...the only person we need to make sure we deport is Warnock.”

This comment was uncalled for, blatantly racist, and all part of the Republican anti-immigrant playbook of tactics meant to sow division and hate in our communities.

In his two years serving in the Senate, Rev. Warnock has helped advocate for a more humane immigration system, rooted in dignity and respect. He’s voiced his support for passing a pathway to citizenship, ensuring people fleeing violence and persecution have access to Temporary Protected Status, and denounced the Department of Homeland Security for its inhumane treatment and deportation of Haitian migrants.

We came together in January 2021 to elect Rev. Warnock and secure a Democratic Senate majority. Once again, we must rally behind him so he can help fight for immigrants in Georgia and across the country.
