A Magical Evening for Germantown Families


Music, fabulous food, new toys and Santa (aka Councilmember Gabe Albernoz) entertained over 300 children and their families in Germantown, thanks to a special County-Community Partnership that hosted a Magical Christmas Evening at Plum Gar Recreation Center near the Middlebrook Manor Mobile Home Park, where many of Identity’s middle school and elementary school families live.

Pyle Middle Schoolers Help Neelsville Students


A mountain of snack bags, covered with words of encouragement like “Time to Fly”, “You’re brighter than the stars”, and riddles like “What do you call two math friends?  Answer: Algebros” arrived at Identity before Thanksgiving. This winter, they're bringing cheer every day to our after-school program at Neelsville Middle School.  READ MORE

Staffer Honored for Work with Asylum Seeker


We are very proud of Case Manager Tanya Sanchez, who was honored by the national legal aid organization KIND for her tireless work with a pregnant teenager, while KIND represented the teen in her asylum case. Tanya exemplifies the Identity value that to serve others is a privilege and requires excellence.

Identity provides over 28,600 healthy snacks a year to low-income children and teens who participate in our free out-of-school-time academic, recreation and social-emotional enrichment programs because it boosts their ability to learn and concentrate. Good News
Identity workforce development grad Jonathan Lara was named  Support Staff of the Month at Rosemont Elementary School in Gaithersburg. Jonathan is tutoring young readers as part of a new partnership between Identity and Literacy Lab. Jonathan earned his GED and learned other workforce skills at the Crossroads Youth Opportunity Center in Takoma Park.  Congrats to Jonathan!
